Artaria Editions for the League of American Orchestras
We hope you had a productive conference. Thanks for stopping by at the Naxos table to learn about Artaria Editions. See below for details of our discount for conference participants.
Artaria Editions was founded in 1995 with the express purpose of exploring the music of major contemporaries of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
It was an ambitious undertaking, given the obscurity of many of the composers we chose to champion, and all these years later it is intensely satisfying to see the extent to which our efforts have been recognised.
Selected composers
Joseph Bologne de Saint-Georges – Artaria Editions has published editions of his music for more than 20 years, and we're delighted that he is gaining the recognition he deserves. His violin concertos make for extremely rewarding performances.
François Devienne – A virtuoso flautist and prolific composer. We publish his flute concertos in fine new editions.
Leopold Hofmann – A true star of the second half of the 18th century, and Kapellmeister of St. Stephan’s Cathedral in Vienna. Discover his orchestral concertos, symphonies and sacred works.
Joseph Martin Kraus was the “Swedish Mozart”, a musical genius active at the court in Stockholm. Explore his orchestral and keyboard works.
Johann Nepomuk Hummel wasn’t just a contemporary of Mozart, he was his most prodigious pupil. Some of the highlights in our catalogue are Hummel’s chamber arrangements of Mozart’s “Six Grand Symphonies”.
